We all know the "weeds in our garden": cost of veterinary care, long hours, after hours, low wages, high expectations, lack of skill or equipment or professional support, shortage of professionals, lack of boundaries, failures and the personal cost of pet euthanasia. Awareness of chronic health issues, mental health, physical health, and emotional health has inevitably brought about a movement of recognition, the first step to change.
The next step is a journey back to the home of better veterinary health professionals. A journey which will be ongoing. Those joining this shift to proactive health will realize the benefits of vetThrive over an extended period.

vetThrive has helped me to learn life lessons I thought I didn't need to know - how to put my wellbeing first, how to look after myself, and how to destress. This program has enabled me to care for myself and my team mates the same way we care for our patients, by recognizing our needs and providing a framework for personal wellbeing and health.

Using vetThrive every day in both my personal and work life has transformed my perception of thinking for the better. Practicing gratitude daily has made me appreciate the small things and learning to respond rather than react. Although it is an ongoing journey for self-improvement, having vetThrive at my fingertips gives me the tools and confidence to live a happy, healthy life.

vetThrive is the best gift for yourself. It will help you to be kind, to recognise and nourish yourself, so that you can be the best version of yourself. The knowledge I have gained from vetThrive stands me in good stead to do my best every day, be happy in my job and turn up for the heartbeats at my feet.

vetThrive was a real eye opener for me. Skipping lunches, pushing through, poor sleep and regular burnouts seem to be a common theme in any vet practice I've worked in and while I THOUGHT I was looking after myself, it wasn't until I went through this program that I realised why I still kept burning out and what I could do daily to avoid this happening again. It has been a journey of self-awareness that has been utterly enlightening and one that I will forever be grateful for.

The experience of doing vetThrive showed me how significant the shift can be when we learn to look after ourselves. It allows us to give more to our patients, friends, and families. It’s easy to talk about doing self-care, but the vetThrive structure made it a priority and the results were palpable at work and at home. I still use the lessons I learned daily. It is a tool to help us be healthy career veterinarians. Well vets are better able to care for unwell pets.

Coming back from burnout has been difficult but working in a team who looks after themselves and their teammates has allowed me to stay in the vet profession.
